About the Position

Job Title: Director of Sponsorships
Reports to: VP of Member Engagement
Job-Type: Full Time, Exempt Employee
Hours: Typically, Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm

The Texas Public Charter Schools Association is the voice of public charter schools in Texas. Its mission is to support and advocate for public charter schools to ensure every family has the ability to choose a high-quality public school.


A. Job Summary

The Director of Sponsorships will play a critical role in developing, managing, and growing a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to support the goals of the Texas Public Charter Schools Association. This position will work closely with the VP of Member Engagement, the conference planning team, and key stakeholders within the charter school community to build relationships with corporate partners and other potential sponsors. The Director will be responsible for securing sponsorships for key events, programs, and initiatives, strategically aligning them with TPCSA’s mission and values while maximizing revenue growth.


B. Essential Job Functions

Sponsorship Strategy & Growth:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to support TPCSA’s programs, events, member services, and advocacy efforts.
• Identify new sponsorship opportunities and expand the existing Solution Provider base.
• Cultivate and sustain long-term relationships with current and potential sponsors, aligning their goals with TPCSA’s mission while demonstrating clear ROI and mutual value
• Conduct prospecting activities and manage the entire sponsorship lifecycle from outreach to contract negotiation to fulfillment.
• Serve as spokesperson and ambassador for TPCSA to encourage partnerships and build rapport with key stakeholders.

Event & Program Sponsorship Management:
• Lead the sponsorship efforts for TPCSA’s major events, including the annual conference, ancillary programming, and member gatherings.
• Work collaboratively with the member services/conference team to design sponsorship packages that meet the needs of sponsors while driving revenue for TPCSA.
• Ensure that all sponsor benefits are delivered in a timely and high-quality manner, exceeding sponsor expectations.
• Track sponsorship revenue and work with the VP of Member Engagement to manage budgets for sponsorship programs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of sponsorships and provide recommendations for improvements and growth.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management:
• In collaboration with the development team, cultivate strong relationships with corporate sponsors and move them into the development pipeline for individual and corporate giving.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors, providing ongoing communication and reporting on the impact and benefits of their sponsorship.
• Help identify potential crossover opportunities for Charter CEntral webinars, member support, and ancillary services.

Marketing & Communications Collaboration:
• Work with the communications team to ensure sponsor visibility through various platforms, including digital, social media, email marketing, and event promotions.
• Collaborate with the team to create compelling sponsorship materials, proposals, and presentations that effectively convey the value of partnering with TPCSA.


C. Expectations

• This individual will be instrumental in advancing TPCSA’s ambitious goal of having more public charter schools engage in advocacy. The successful candidate will be an extremely organized and detail-oriented professional looking for an opportunity to thrive in a position where he or she will be given space to contribute meaningfully to a team.
• This is a full-time, exempt position. Employees are generally expected to work a 40-hour work week, with an understanding that occasionally there will be times when 50 or more hours a week may be required in order to complete projects.


D. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in sponsorship sales, business development, or a related field.
• Proven track record of securing and managing corporate sponsorships, ideally in a nonprofit or education-related environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with high-level corporate stakeholders.
• Experience in event planning and sponsorship activation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Deep commitment to the mission of public charter schools in Texas.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and CRM systems (Salesforce, etc.).
• Knowledge of Texas education policy and charter school landscape is a plus.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to travel across the region to engage with sponsors and partners.
