Funding opportunity from the Rebuild Texas Fund

April 19, 2018

The Rebuild Texas Fund – a private philanthropic fund established to assist communities devastated by Hurricane Harvey – has designated funding available for qualified charter schools damaged by the storm.  The Fund has raised more than $93M to support rebuilding and revitalization efforts in communities and will be making grants to charter schools as part of its education and childcare focus area.

Charter operators with schools in the counties designated by the Governor’s Commission to Rebuild Texas (according to the Disaster Regions Map) may apply using the proposal form available here.

Please note:

  • Applicants should include information on school enrollment, student demographics, and details regarding existing sources of funds to assist with recovery from storm damage (e.g. FEMA funds, insurance proceeds, etc.) in the Problem Statement section of the application.
  • Applications will be evaluated on current school academic standing, in addition to other criteria. Any extenuating circumstances should be noted in the Problem Statement section of the application.
  • Applications are reviewed monthly and decisions communicated promptly.

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to rebuild and restore your schools and classrooms!
