TPCSA 2.0 has evolved to serve its members the way you’ve asked to be served – through effective advocacy and a strong communications plan to help strengthen public opinion, address and correct misinformation, and highlight the positive impact you’re having on your students’ and parents’ lives every day.

We’ve got big plans to build on our legislative successes and we need you! We look forward to cultivating more relationships with legislators and community partners, bringing to light all of your successes, and working with you to enable your students, teachers, and parents to use their voices to defend our charters!

  • Advocacy and Communications

    TPCSA advocates for charter schools year-round at the State Capitol and the United States Congress. We work with member schools to develop a unified advocacy agenda that serves the best interest of Texas charter schools and ensures a unified voice when addressing the Texas Education Agency and the Department of Education. TPCSA’s advocacy and communications efforts include but are not limited to:

    • Media engagement
    • Visual storytelling
    • Grassroots mobilization campaigns
    • Hosting educational events for lawmakers
    • Combating misinformation and antagonists
    • Growing the Teacher Advocacy Leadership Institute Program
    • Producing supporting data and publishing papers

  • Targeted Training

    TPCSA training is the best, most engaging training available for Texas charter school board memberships and administration. Trainings are scheduled year-round and offered via webinar, live, and on-demand via the TPCSA Learning Zone. Our trainings address issues that are immediately applicable and specific to charter schools. We offer customized training for your governance board, too!

  • Member Council Meetings

    Gatherings of charter member leaders designed to foster networking and sharing of ideas. Members meet to guide the Association’s major initiatives.

  • Regional Meetings

    We help you understand the unique struggles of charter schools in your city and how we are working to combat them.

    Attorneys are made available to provide confidential legal advice and information at no additional charge.

  • Model Board Policies

    An educational tool to aid in the operation and management of open-enrollment charter schools in Texas. The publications offer a summary and suggested model policy for federal and state statutes and regulations. These policies include a Model Personnel Handbook and Special Education Policies.

  • SchoolSpring Job Board

    TPCSA has partnered with PowerSchool to provide our members with an employee recruitment tool that allows you to post unlimited job openings on the TPCSA website at no additional cost.

  • E-Newsletter

    This bi-weekly communication with the latest information on critical charter-related issues is delivered to your email inbox and includes charter success stories, upcoming events, reminders, and grant opportunities.

  • Sunday 60

    During a legislative session, a weekly email outlining the important legislative and policy updates for the Texas charter school community to engage coalition partners, funders, community leaders, charter school leaders, board members, and staff.

  • Electricity Cooperative

    Customized competitively bid contracts & brokerage services for eligible schools.

  • Quality Framework Portal

    Member portal that includes a research-based continuous improvement tool, resources, calculators, firewall-protected documents/data, and toolkits. School admin can retrieve training certificates, invoices, and update their school contacts in one convenient location.

  • Annual Conference

    The annual 3-day conference is the only statewide gathering of the entire Texas charter school community. More than 1,600 charter school advocates including administrators, board members, policy makers, corporate sponsors, and teachers gather to network, share best practices, receive state-mandated training hours, and find solutions to their school issues. Members receive deeply discounted registration rates.

    Initial Flat Fee $1000
    K-12 Pre-K
    Per-student dues for first 1-499 students $16 $8
    Per-student dues for students 500-1499 $12 $6
    Per-student dues for students 1500 and above $8 $4

    *Dues will continue to be assessed based on your previous school year's enrollment.
