Why Join TCSA?: John Duman with Harmony explains

November 11, 2015

Harmony Public Schools has a very close relationship with TCSA. We have institutional and personal relations with TCSA staff at every level. They help us with compliance, networking, advocacy and outreach efforts. In fact, we work with TCSA in several ways, including:

  • Professional Development for our teachers and campus leaders
  • Board required trainings for our principals, assistant principals and district administrators
  • Advocacy
  • TCSA online e-learning portal
  • Annual conference
  • Quality framework
  • Legal consultancy
  • Preferred vendors

One example of where TCSA really shined for Harmony: We were searching our options for effective board trainings for our campus and district leaders, so we invited TCSA staff to the Harmony Leadership training. From the beginning, our TCSA representative was very welcoming and extremely proactive in accommodating our specific needs. They were flexible in tailoring a PD according to those needs, producing a very effective end result.

In the end, we were able to design and deliver a highly productive training to our 200 campus and district administrators during our summer leadership retreat thanks to TCSA. An added bonus was TCSA's Executive Director David Dunn's attendance at the opening ceremony of the event... Proof of the strong indication of Harmony Public School's and TCSA's firm partnership.

In short, TCSA is specialized and focused on the needs of charter schools in Texas. They know the legal, political and technical aspects of charter schools. They listen and offer thoughtful solutions which are practical and transformative.

Sincerely,
John Duman,
Director of Leadership Development
Harmony Public Schools – Texas
