There’s an election coming up on May 24th for a Houston seat on the State Board of Education, which makes big decisions about public schools — including whether public charter schools can open and what curriculums and textbooks may be used in classrooms.
In partnership with schools around the city, a town hall meeting was held for teachers and families to meet the two candidates, Staci Childs and Coretta Mallet-Fontenot. Both candidates were invited.
