You or your board members may have received an email notification from the Texas Education Agency on additional professional development hours for 19 TAC, Chapter 100 training requirements. TCSA is proud to share our suite of training for the summer months to help you receive instruction designed specifically for charter school leaders and meet state requirements.

How to Start a Charter in Texas
TCSA announces its charter start-up training series for educational reformers and entrepreneurs. This one-day training session is designed for all persons thinking about applying for a charter school through the Commissioner of Education and the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE).This eight-hour beginner workshop aims to empower future charter leaders with knowledge for the development of a competitive charter application and an effective charter school. Ideal for individuals/teams seeking Texas specific information about the charter application process and want a trusted adviser to give them a strong overview of the requirements to succeed. This session will provide attendees with a better understanding of the legal, operational, and educational considerations to apply for a charter school in Texas.

This six hour training for PEIMS officers will provide an in-depth view of the Public Education Information Management System (PIEMS). Attendees will learn what types of data are included within the system, learn the standard set of definitions, codes, formats and procedures. Time will also be spent on editing records, how to avoid fatal errors, submitting data via computer, and where to receive technical assistance on the system.
